I would like to welcome you to the launch of the PA HERP Identification project. My name is Jason Poston and I am a visual communications designer and in my spare time I am a field herpetologist. This site has been a personal project of mine for over six months. I have been working hard to make a site to share and help educate the public on the reptiles and amphibians in there backyard and state. The site is around 90% done. There are a few small changes here and there that will be takeing place in the next few days and I still have a good bit of photos to add to the ID pages from some great photographers.
I would like to thank all of the photographers and researchers for all there help. With out them this site would not have been possible. They have supplied a great selection of photos to give the visitors here a good idea of identifying characteristics of all of the Pennsylvania herpetofauna. Each photographer can be found at the bottom of each page and on the image previewer.
Another special thanks to Tim Maret with the PA Herp Atlas Project for all of your help.
If you have any questions about the site or find something out of place feel free to contact me personally though the contact page. I also encourage any one that have any questions about a species you have found and need help identifying you can send me in photos and myself and other members of the site will be glad to help you out.
The PA Herp ID will have a few future projects in the works and you can keep up-to-date by signing up for out RSS and have the latest news go to your email or RSS reader. We will be looking for sponsors for a few upcoming projects and printable materials for the sites volunteers. If you would like more information on any of these projects feel free to contact me.
Thanks for dropping by the PA HERP ID site.
